What is a Security Door?
A real security door is designed and tested to meet strict Australian Standards, making it far stronger than a standard barrier door. It includes features like a 3-point locking system and quality mesh to help keep your home safe from intruders. Choosing a compliant door means peace of mind and long-lasting protection.
A true security door is more than just a strong screen. To qualify, it must comply with
Australian Standard AS 5039 and pass
AS 5041 testing.
Compliant doors include a 3-point lock to prevent corners being forced open, and locks must use a 5-pin cylinder or equivalent. An AS 5039 compliance label confirms the door has been tested and certified by an accredited laboratory.
By contrast, a barrier door may look similar but is not built or tested to these standards, making it cheaper but far less secure.
